Installation

4 simple steps

  1. Install the game A fresh, new installation of Resident Evil 4 Remake from Steam is required. Installing the two DLCs is optional.
  2. Download the installer Download the installer
  3. Follow the installer instructions The installer will do the following in detail:
    • Tries to find your RE4 install folder
    • Checks if you are on the correct version (the newest one). If not, a warning will be displayed.
    • Downgrades RE4 to the last version before the 2026 update, so that the upscaler works.
    • Asks you for OpenVR or OpenXR, Steam or Meta
    • Installs ViGEm (if not already installed)
    • Installs the newest mod version

All you have to do is click Next.

If the controllers don't work right away and ViGEm has just been installed, please restart your PC once and make sure no other controllers are connected/on before your VR controllers. Also, the game window should always be selected and in focus.

  4. Start the game and play

There are some graphical options you really should not use — but you will experiment anyway.

Mod Options

OpenVR & OpenXR

To open the mod menu, press LT + left controller B (Y) at any time. It will appear in the palm of your left hand. Use the right controller to point at the menu — the red dot shows where you are right now. Press the right trigger to select. Press LT + left controller B (Y) again to close the menu.

Bindings

Here you can find the bindings for normal gameplay. Keep in mind that menus, the boat, the jet ski and cutscenes use their own layouts, which you will find out by yourself, I'm sure.
